Agreed... and in the spirit of openly pish taking... nbsdave... why did you park your bike on a level crossing bloke?   :)

downhill the bike would roll off the sidestand
uphill, I would have to work to get going!

...er over here that would not be a reason. lol   :lala:

Except for having to learn "British english"

Yeah, here we just call it 'English'.. :neen:

Actually, you may call it "English" but this forum calls it "British English" and it is the language choice given when one joins the forum.

My language:British English- that from the join page.

My comment was intended to inject a bit of levity into the replies.
My apologies, it won't happen again.

quite right a v. active site worth re visiting regularly to see what's coming araound ... nearest I have seen or been part of.. as an active site; was the f650 ( beemer) forum http://www.f650.co.uk/ ; so maybe its the type of bike that attracts an enquiring mind ?

Now as for the language exchange question - that's what the world is like assimilating new ways of saying and speaking... language is alive .... but I cannot stand the use by auntie BBC of " upcoming" whatever happened to forthcoming?   "upcoming" just sounds vaguely pornographic?  ,, Hello ho

I've been here a few weeks now, it has become apparent in that time that this is more than just your usual bike specific forum.. Members are knowledgable and engaging and have interesting things to say instead of the usual collection of posts that add nothing.. I put that down to the type of person the bikes attract, but there must be more to it than that.. Other forums I frequent aren't nearly as busy, or time consuming, with such a wide range of topics on the go at any one time, I sometimes find myself having to prioritise new posts so as not to spend hours reading them all at any given time.. Members are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, a real credit to the forum and create a good impression of British owners to newcomers.. Pleased I found the place and happy to be a part of it.

I couldn't agree more - and I couldn't have expressed it myself with my Dane-lish language
