Title: Hein Gericke 'Journey' Gear
Post by: stromonoff on July 06, 2011, 18:27:40: Hein Gericke have another sale on, so have just ordered a Journey II goretex jacket and trouser set.

I don't normally like ordering stuff like his blind, but I rang my nearest store and they didn't have the stock but they did have it on line so I took a gamble.

Anyone use the HG journey kit? What do you reckon?

I know it isn't top end stuff but Â£250 for a goretex two piece doesn't sound too bad I suppose.

Hmmm - might try again! Ahhh, the weaknesses of the human brain! It's like losing your keys and then searching the same place half a dozen times!

I don't have a great track record with general clothes, when my wife comes back from the high street 75% of it goes back again.

I have a bit more of a margin with bike gear, as I normally like it slightly too large - extra ventilation for summer, extra layers in winter. So anywhere from perfect to a size too big kind of works (except helmets and gloves of course !!). Its usually accommodating the beer gut that is the problem :grin:

Went into HG this pm, more in hope than owt, and lo! the journey II fitted me liketh unto a glove, so I bit the bullet got one, well chuffed! I like my old frank Thomas, but its like wearing a bin-liner in any sort of heat, no breathability. Didn't have the guts (well, permission) to get the pants ,but I'm happy with me Aldi textile ones, which I do rate for breathability + w/proofing :thumb:

It seems nice quality to me stromonoff, think you've made the good choice there...you can always suck in the guts!
