It's that hateful rear-end, ever since someone reckoned it looks like a cats backside.
Has anyone done any modifications to make it look a bit better?
I was thinking of moving the seat lock somewhere else and shifting the numberplate up, though I realise it would mean a smaller 'plate.
Anyone?

LED tail lights are a saw free option, after that it's going to get messy...

I used this angled stuff to make a crude bracket for the plate
The number plate light is a motrax LED 1, had to make a little bracket out of stainless steel plate
I found in the garage.
Not at all high tech but it works for me.I think I took about 3 inches off the mudguard.
Doing away with that ugly oem plate light was what I really wanted to do.
Also, this is interesting

Thanks for all your replies and ideas. I think it seems logical to follow them to some degree. I will take ideas from each of you and combine the best. :ty:
It's difficult to utilise some of the ideas mainly due to the stupid size requirements on numberplates here in the UK, but I have ordered a smaller plate anyway (and will hope the rozzers don't spot it) as my MOT man turns a blind eye to small plates and loud exhausts...nice man!
I will post the results when done, in about a month I hope.
Meanwhile, I'm off to fit my stainless steel engine bolt set...... :fix:

Where did you get the stainless bolt set from?

From eBay Stu.
If you're interested, copy this code into the search box on eBay: 260631168360
Alternatively, you can get them direct drom his website, but they're more expensive there: http://www.a2stainless.co.uk/Suzuki-DL1 ... AJ5DR.aspx (http://www.a2stainless.co.uk/Suzuki-DL1000-V-Strom-Stainless-Engine-Casings-Capscrews_AJ5DR.aspx)
I bought a set of another dealer on eBay and chucked the lot in my odds and sods drawer as not one fitted and most were missing. This bloke got it spot on though, and was cheaper, and the bolts were shinier!
Hope that helps

I just noticed you have a Wee Stu, this chap doesn't do a set specifically for the 650, but I'm sure if you contacted him he could help.

Cheers buddy,
