In case anyone is interested/thinking about it/etc...
1. Needed and works great - front mudguard extender. Splashed out on a proper Pyramid one too!

2. Up and back risers https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009055672957.html? (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009055672957.html?) - had 'em on off on off on off deciding if I like them or not. Ended up with them on. No issues with cable lengths etc.

Yep! Front mudguard extender is well worth fitting. :thumb:
I fitted 25mm risers on mine & pulled the bars back a little. All helps the old bone & muscles to cope. :)

3. Carpuride 712D Android auto display. Attached to the bikes navbar with an adapter from Carpuride themselves (extra dosh - about 15 squiddlies). Quite a lot of wiring on these but it tucks away quite nicely. You need to power from the battery not USB for it to work properly. Voice control on android auto does not work with bluetooth helmet intercoms btw - this is an android thing not Carpuride. don't know about Apple. I use Sygic for general satnav duties and Googlemaps for quick get-me-there's.

4. Hot Grips. Oxford advanced touring. Can't recall where from or how much I paid. Would've been discounted :thumb:
Work well. Usually have them on first setting. Never been above 3!
These fitted without trimming. Plenty of filing and dremmelling on the throttle side though. They were buggers to get on - actually had to add a spot of silicone lube to get 'em to move. No glue required and they haven't moved a bit.
Edit: Just seen the price is on the box - £89.99. Doubt I'd have paid that. Not in my nature.

(https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005010060011180.html?) about £70 to £75 from Ali for both. Need a bit of customising to hang the lights instead of them being on top. Recommended at the price.

6. Fusebox. Grips, Carpuride and spots all run into this, the trigger wire is attached to the aux socket at the rear so they all switch on and off with the ignition. Think it's 20 amp max. Appropriate fuses fitted. The grips remember which setting they were on when switched off btw.

4a,5a. Controls for these.

7. Tankbag. Came off my 2023 650. Bought secondhand. All fits the 800 just fine. Never thought I wanted one. Wouldn't be without it now.

8. Handguards. Dealer threw them in when I bought the bike. Would do nothing if I dropped it but keep a bit of wind off.

9. Mirror Extenders. Half the mirror was elbow before these. An essential. Possibly help with any buffeting issues. Can't recall where I got them. Probably Ali.

10. Mesh seat cover. Get on well with these. They do collect dirt underneath though so take them off for a clean up occasionally.

11. Paddock stand Bobbins. Don't work that well as the tail bit of the RE hits the stand lifting and dropping the bike. Can be done with care. I have an Abba Stand so not really an issue. The Abba stand, btw barely lifts the RE height-wise. I put it on some wood to get a little more clearance.

That's about it I think. Apologies for cluttering up the board but some of it may be useful for peeps.
The Carpuride comes with front and rear dash cam cameras fyi, Work pretty well. Pic of the back one temporarily permanently attached under the rack - no pic of the front one but it lives under the beak. You just have to remember to clean the lens once in awhile.
Also, love the standard rear mud flap - why didn't the 650 have one of these!?
1400 odd miles and rising since I got it in October last year. Think it's a keeper.

Oh, well done on fitting the Oxford heated grips!
I literally couldn't get my first grip into position on the RE's handlebars - it stuck solid about an inch short of the correct position. It wouldn't come back off either (no, I didn't apply any glue inside it either), so in the end I had to dremel it down to the handlebar to get it back off. It felt like the inner diameter of the grip was fractionally too small for the RE's bars. Maybe I just bought a set with one grip badly made. Didn't bother with the throttle grip side after that experience.
Anyway, have since got a pair of Keis G601 heated gloves for Christmas, so I no longer view the grips as essential.

I am still on the fence when it comes to Capurides and the like . My Zumo XT Sat Nav does the ...nav , while fitting in my pocket away from the bike to stop attracting the attention of small boys / thieving scroats :shrug: , and cameras ....yeah ..I get it . I ride to get away from my phone vibrating in my pocket :grin:
But knowing my luck ( and riding style :whistle: ) any footage will probably get used against me not for me :shock:
But a great thread , nice to have all the mods in one place :text-goodpost:

A well timed thread this one, I'm downgrading from a GSA to an 800RE, the other half has had one for 18 months, the engine is a peach, I test rode a 1050DE but didn't gel with it like I hoped I would, preferred the 800.
I've got until 1st March to get my custom bits in order. The Heed crash bars and bash plate have arrived, I'm going to go with Shad SH23 panniers for day to day stuff and then something bigger for when we go on tour. I ordered a centre stand and tall seat with the bike, the Veridian Cruise Control is on it's way, it looks like a pig to fit but it took about 90 mins in all, would have been quicker if I'd removed her crash bars.
I need to look at a screen (or perhaps a spoiler), mirror extenders, I think yellow Barkbusters will set it off, R&G Radiator guard, Ultimate Addons heated grips, was thinking of Oxford Spots and 12v switch box (will probably get the switchbox from Ali). I've seen on Facebook someone has fitted a rear mudguard similar to a GS one, I'm trying to find it on AliExpress.
Have you done anything with footpegs? I find the stock ones quite small, I picked up some used SW-Motek ION ones for the other bike but they are tilted forward and I'm not keen, the other half likes them though.
As Nigel says, great to have all the mods in one place, well done! :)
