Not jealous at all, nope, in enjoying the dark and the rain 😭.
* Cracking bike that 450, doesn't have the charm or the looks of the old 410 (in my opinion) but it's a stonking ride on every objectively measurable way.
-
Brilliant pictures yet again :thumb:
-
I will post more pictures as and when he sends them.
He has also sent some videos but I don’t know how I can send them lol
-
Cheers ASmith, interesting pictures.

Phil has sent more pictures today.
There are 18 in the group, they are marking the corners and so far it’s working well. One of the blokes from NZ (Barry Sheene ) his sole on his boot came loose, so the local cobbler removed the whole sole and glued and stitched them back on and full leather clean £11 lol
You will see more of Barry Sheene in the pictures checking that his repaired boot didn’t leak.
Phil has said it Brutal to be fair they are throwing everything at us.

Yet more great pic's, looks fun & tough in equal measures :thumb:

Great pictures Asmith61. The next best thing to being there with your mate. One of the pictures shows a unique way to carry eggs on a bike, I can't even buy eggs from my favourite farm shop anymore because every time I have in the past they have been broken all over my top box by the time I got home. Keep the pictures coming please. :thumb: :auto-dirtbike:

Today he has sent a video of last nights meal Sizzling steak (it was Yak steak ) with veg & chips. ( as I cannot post videos I have taken screen shots from the videos )
Todays Ride they are all struggling, as they are at 3759 metres and it is Hard to breathe, ( you will see what I mean from the picture ) they are nearly 3 times higher than Ben Nevis. And Apparently Altitude sickness starts at 2500 metres, only 1600 meters off Everest base camp 🤔 no wonder the air is thin.
And the Crash shirt is filling up with names.

Stunning pictures :thumb: I love the idea of the crash shirt...
-
Strewth, that's real adventuring!
Great pictures, thank you.
I can't do high bridges, I would have to crawl across that rope bridge with my eyes shut.
-
2112 yes I thought the Crash shirt was a great idea too, and I hadn’t heard of it before either :thumb:
MisterDavey I would be exactly the same, I don’t like heights and I suffer with vertigo
Breakfast was going to be at 7am this morning then start there descent, they have 130 miles to cover over 2 days off road back to Katmamdu and it is going to be Brutal !!
I will post pictures as always when I am sent them.

More brilliant pictures. Thank you. I can't help but feel that the tyre choice on those bikes is perhaps too road bias, maybe. :auto-dirtbike: :thumb:
-
Indeed, more brilliant pictures :thumb:
-
Thanks chaps :thumb:
I have asked him to put one of the Wheelbarrows in his case lol
-
Yes Doc I can see what you mean now.
I think the Tyres have taken a beating over the past week or so though lol
-
That's impressive! I'd love to do one of those trips, but our lass would definitely not be so enthusiastic (also I don't think one of those bikes would take the both of us...).
Is it crass to ask how much it cost and how many days it was over?
-
Hi Snakebite ……not sure if you have Followed Phil’s trip ?
it was 11 Nights from Katmamdu start and finish with a company called the Himalayan heroes :thumb:
-
Just heard from Phil.
They have got back to Katmamdu and they have Returned the bikes.
He has text saying 600 miles on roads and tracks, I can’t explain ….what a trip. Phil’s words.
This has been a life changing trip with amazing people, and now I’m a proper motorcyclist been and done some of the toughest roads in the world 🌍
Cost about 5K total including all hotels and food.
Mongolia in 2027 if anyone is interested…….
-
I very much admire that they had such an adventure, I'm not jealous because I just couldn't sum up the courage (or budget) but they have my respect and I'm in awe when I see those pictures.
Many thanks again for sharing ASmith61.
-
It's been an epic adventure. I hope they haven't got to clean the bikes afterwards...
-
Asmith61 No, I'm new on here, just started looking around...
£5k doesn't sound bad considering the experience and length of trip!
-
Snakebite…… no it doesn’t sound that bad, and to be honest in his eyes and all of the group it was money well spent :thumb:
Nice bikes you have there :thumb:…….. If you get time post some pictures of them, either in pictures or show us your bike.
-
That looks like really good fun, what a trip. Thanks for sharing :thumb:

Phil has sent some pictures that his brother Brian had taken on the trip, and he took a video of just how busy Katmamdu actually was. ( I took screen shots from the video, you may notice the riders were wearing Helmets but there Pillions weren’t )
