Title: Cosmo Foot Lowering Kit
Post by: Mark65 on September 08, 2025, 19:47:16
Hi, has any one used acorn nuts on the kit rather than the nylock ones at all, I thought with thread lock they would look a bit nicer.

You could use black plastic nut covers. I did that on my aux light bar and it looks pretty good 👍

Hi so I put the brake side on and my kit did not come with the extra nuts as shown in red, my box arrived  a bit messed up, I assume rough handling. Any way I have the bottom nut and a top nut which I've put back there original way to lock it all in place, does this seem right as the extension thread is not long enough to use the second nut any way, will show a pick of the installation in a bit.

Contact Cosmo. I had items go missing in the post to me years ago (whole item) and he posted a replacement.

Not sure it matters, its all on, needs testing, I think the brake sits a tad high than before and the gear lever a tad lower or might be the same but it will need moving on the splines as there's no more wiggle room., will check tomm. thanks

gear shift is within the 20-30mm below the top of the foot rest specified, just the brake to check.

:shy: oops I glanced at the pic and thought you'd circled the extension link  :shy:

Glad it works. Makes a big difference to comfort.

So, I managed to get the gear lever to the 30mm from top of foot peg but adjustment is maxed out, I'm not sure I can move it a tooth on the splines, the gear lever I get to 14mm and its supposed to be 20mm below top of footpeg.
The brake extension needs to be threaded another 5mm and the gear shortened 5mm on my bike.
Images attached, I don't know if Cosmo just order them in from China or make them themselves?. What to do now, I will need a test ride first.

Moved the gear shifter 1 spline today and tweaked the adjuster  about 25mm, so much better, no need to dip the foot so much.
