Title: Jean Suggestions
Post by: Tiggerbits on July 26, 2025, 19:21:53
Hello all,

I'm after a new pair of motorcycle jeans. I've not owned a pair for roughly 2 sizes ago (🥧).
I'm assuming in the last few years there's been some improvements.

Any suggestions would be great, or what I should be looking for.

Thanks

The relatively recent CE ratings have helped to target peoples choices relative to budget. CE 'A' rated is OK around town, 'AA' rated more general purpose and CE 'AAA' rated is the highest standard. Single skin jeans are generally cooler (tempreture, not looks...) but the Kevlar (and assorted other variations of Polyester) lined are generally considered more protective. level 2 armour is better than level 1 - but only if it stays in place. Fit is probably more important than anything else, too loose and the armour/protective layers may end up in the wrong place, too tight may be very uncomfortable. I'm sure some recommendations will be along soon, good luck  :thumb:

I can't compare with others because I've ever only bought one pair, "Bull-it", very comfortable, armour in hips an knees and a little bit stretchy so naturally adjust  their fit on and off the bike.  :thumb:

My wife likes her Bull-it jeans. Latest level 2 armour good. Also recommend Roadskin. They do a single layer jean that is AAA rated with level two armour. Pockets are a bit shallow if you carry your phone in your pocket.

Thanks for the input.
Its good to know what to look for in regards to safety rating.
And I'll take a look at both the Bull It and roadskins

I had some Bull-it lined jeans (think they were SR-16's), wore them once and hated them, too thick, too heavy, felt like a glimpse into the future when you can no longer hold it in, gave them away.
I've had a pair of Rokker jeans since then, single layer, slim fit, love 'em.

I have the RST pro jeans, they are excellent if a little warm so I bought a cheap pair on single lined Corse jeans from XL-moto for warm days but they are crap.

I have Bull-it single layer AA jeans, they're pretty great and comfortable too. Try them on first and sit on your bike, you may need to go down a size.
