Luckily they usually only put a foot or two of chipping down around here.
-
That's a good reason to get away for the weekend!!
That method sucks too, it boils my blood that they use such a cheap and knowingly ineffective method..
-
Yes, they've been busy in Northumberland with the same rubbish. It lasts about two weeks before the gravel comes off at the corners where the HGV's scrub it off. False economy.
-
It's a favourite here too. I'm not so worried about full road treatment but they will do patches at what appears to be random locations. :dl_smiley_banghead:

North Somerset Council have a team with a big machine that sprays a combination of tar and gravel into pot holes to 'bring the surface up to road level'.... yeah, right!
-
It's been done. Seen worse. Came and went in less than an hour.

They do this type of resurfacing on all the roads in West Wales.
A couple of years back, we were on a group ride from Fat Rat's to St Davids and the chippings were at least an inch deep all over the road, it was like riding on snow but in 25 degree heat.
Sod all warning as well - just the loose gravel signs about 5ft before the start of it.

I live on an one-adopted road and I'd love it if the council would shove some bitumen and chippings down. Especially as we pay the same council tax.
