Title: Hello!
Post by: desmo_dave on July 01, 2025, 23:04:15
Hello fellow vstrom enthusiasts and thank you for allowing me in to your membership!

It has taken many years of riding to get my first vstrom but I finally bought a (well) used 2009 vstrom 1000 to be my touring/adventure bike. I have been riding non-stop for 54 years (ouch) and the vstrom is one of 3 bike I currently own. The other two are a 2000 Honda XR650R heavily converted to road use and a 1990 Honda XR250R.

My son also just bought a vstrom - a 2004 Vstrom 650 that I understand is better known as a wee-strom. My son and I have been riding together for 12 years and we are both VERY excited to  explore more of Canada and USA on our stroms! We are based in Vancouver, BC, Canada and do most of our riding in the West Coast of BC and Washington/Oregon US states.

Hopefully I will get to know some of you and have already used this forum as a resource to learn and understand the bike.

It is Canada Day here so I have already done my ride for the day and will spend the rest with family.

Hello once again to you all!
David

Hello and  :welcome2: David. Nice stable you have there. I have owned two XR650R's, great bikes and happier in Canada than England I think. You need massive off road terrain to use them properly  :auto-dirtbike: (as you know). Enjoy your V-Strom.    :) :thumb:

They're great bikes for exploring big distances, I've only been to Canada once but I do remember it being 'quite large' :)

You have chosen a great bike, but your son has chosen an even better one.

Everyone on here agrees that the K4 DL650 is the best bike ever designed and manufactured as the silver frame is stunning.
