Title: Is it a stacked headlight problem?
Post by: Brockett on January 17, 2025, 14:00:01
TAYM on a GSX-8R out on a dark night found the stacked headlight on his bike is hopeless.  Later at Orwells motorcycles they can't make it any better. Just not good enough is it.

Yep, same on the 800. Nothing right in front of the bike, then a wide spread of light for a few yards, then nothing.

OMG! maybe a letter to Suzuki GB is required.  After all nobody ever does a road test in that dark or do they?

I do seem to remember that a previous Suzuki iteration had really good, side by side lights. I'm sure it will come to me.......

There's posts on Stromtrooper about the US folks raising this with Suzuki and their relevant govt department. https://www.stromtrooper.com/threads/the-800-800de-headlight-complaint-thread.443190/#replies

If folks think these are dangerous they should report it to Suzuki UK and possibly DVLA https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-recalls-and-faults/report-a-serious-safety-defect

It's the one thing I don't like about my RE and the reason I added a lightbar and aux lights straight away. If possible I don't ride in the dark anyway but they should be better.
