Title: XT wheel corrosion
Post by: kwackboy on November 30, 2023, 21:34:51: Had a 2019 650 XT in today for a service, my first inspection revealed this ... only 18k on the clock..

Bad corrosion either side of the valve. :icon_no:

Simple solution, drill a drain hole so the water can escape. Just next to the valve will do.

Post by: Oldleathers on December 02, 2023, 17:49:29: Yes they look bad, not that visible on the pic but there is a drain hole in between each spoke but why did Suzuki not copy the GS design of lacing the spokes to the edge. when I had my XT1050 cleaning the spokes drove me mad.

Post by: kwackboy on December 02, 2023, 18:15:38: Yes , seems odd Suzuki didn't use BMW's design as others have done and It's mad that manufacturers like Suzuki and Honda scrimp on wheel build quality.

Recently I had a set of spoked wheels built by a specialist and the price difference between normal and stainless spokes was £40 for both wheels so the cost to larger manufacturers to improve quality would be a fraction of that if they mass produced them ... :shrug:

looking at the build quality I'd take a Tranny over the other options lol
