Being tall, I want to raise my seat 2 cm.
Planning on removing these 4 screws and add a two cm Masonite or MDF block and replace the screws with four new ones but 2 cm longer.
A good idea?

I don't see any reason that wouldn't work, as long as the mounting points (the two rubber tabs at the front of the seat), and whatever mechanism it locks in with can still lock the seat in? The other issue is if it's raised 20mm, that you may have a visible gap, and maybe the stability of the seat will be affected?
Is that seat screwed in at the back?

I raised the seat on my fazer 2", by getting a poor seat off ebay cheap just for the base. Then used solid high density foam cut into 1" by1" strips 2" inches long .Think of those executive toys that have all the pins in that you press your hand into.Glued those on,smoothed the top then put the original foam plus some 1/2" foam for a little comfort back on top back on and got it recovered by a our marine upholsterer at work.Total £50 plus my time, worked well.

As purplebikeunicorn said the idea of a gap letting water in to all the electrics is worrying.

Perhaps a foot peg lowering kit could be an alternative for rider comfort?

I doubt the seat will re-fit & lock doing it with 'blocks'?
I'd go with Nigel's suggestion, get some extra foam on it & a new cover.

Standard on the XT and newr 1050 (not the DE).

Agree with Gert, peg lowering improves the amount of room for your legs, without pushing you two inches higher in the air flow and putting you on tip toe potentially. Support UK firm by buying from Cymarc.
-
Hard and sometimes impossible to buy from UK when I am in the EU.
Lowering the fotpegs would enhance the risk of scraping ... I think raising the seat will just change the ergonomics if I also do not raise the bar.
-
I occasionally deck a peg on my 650 already ,so lowering them is out for me.
On the Fazer I moved the bars up the same as the seat (needed new brake lines) to keep the top half ergos nearly the same.

I used these so I could tailor it to suit.
Though weirdly wind noise went down!
It is always a problem for me with a 36" inside leg on any bike.
Do Suzuki make a taller seat for the 1050,like for the 650/800/1000?
-
Suzuki only sell the adapter listed above... And apparently it is standard on newer 1050s
And probably there will be bigger gap between the raised seat and the frame.

Worth a punt?
