Title: Rear shock not showing full adjustment lines.
Post by: Mojo-Jojo on February 15, 2023, 18:46:19
I've refitted my rear shock after installing new cushion lever bearings, but my rear sock will now only adjust from position 0 (softest) to position 2, even when turned fully clockwise. All torque settings are correct on shock mountings and cushion lever. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Can't say why it would do that just by removing it & refitting it but have a look at this & see if it helps.................

Starting with the adjuster fully clockwise, I'm getting 20 full turns anti-clockwise.
The workshop manual states that the shock is nitrogen gas, does anyone know if the adjuster is hydraulic?

I think that I may have found the answer, has anyone done this before?

Result.  :lala:

Disassembled the adjuster and found a bearing washer in pieces, drained out all the old oil and replaced with 10w fork oil, rebuilt the adjuster and it works perfectly.

Do you mean the thrust washer that looks like a thick flat washer with needle rollers set into it ?if so did you just stick it together with grease and reassemble ?
I used ordinary engine oil in mine as it takes no part in the damping whatsoever.

No, the thrust washer was in perfect condition it was one of the washers that sit either side of it, it was in 5 or 6 pieces.
