Title: Tyre recommendations please.
Post by: SGTOM on November 06, 2022, 15:49:10
I'm looking for input for a new set of tyres for my 2015 DL1000

I currently have the Continental TKC70's but have barely got 4000 miles out of the rear. I'm a big lad (20 Stone) so that's the most obvious reason as to why. I'm looking for something that would be a bit more hard wearing I guess, I've been looking but my head is swimming what with the amount of manufacturers out there.

I only put the TKC70's on the last time because that's what the previous owner of the bike had on and I admit they looked the part but I do very little off road type riding, maybe the odd green lane here and there but it's mostly road.

So please any insights would be most welcome. Thanks

Bridgestone BT023's are well priced and a decent tyre. 4000 miles to a rear makes me glad I have a 650, I can get near 10000 on a rear tyre, up to 13000 on a front.

@vstroman, you’ve just confirmed my tyre choice, for my L4 to, so thanks 👍 following so much research here and elsewhere, tyre choice isn’t easy, with so many different options.

@vstroman Thanks for that, I see they also offer a GT version of that tyre which is a variant for heavier bikes or indeed a heavier rider. It's a good shout and I think I'll give them a go.
