Post by: endintears on August 31, 2022, 21:17:37
Spur of the moment early evening visit to MFN bike night near Nottingham and spotted this rather distinctive looking Vstrom.

I live quite near to MFN and there are strong rumours it has been sold and closing as a bike meet.

Is that an actual NHS bike or a pretend wannabe?
I thought it was police to begin with given the blue and white chequered livery but I think that went out in the 80s or 90s when they switched to blue/yellow?
Isn't NHS green/yellow anyway?

Bigpie has since been able to retire on the proceeds of the many fuse boxes he supplied to this bike.

It looks very like someone who's pretending to be the NHS: wrong colour of chequers, NHS logo is some kind of random sticker stuck on the screen to be seen in the mirrors, the multiple lights to appear more important, what looks like an additional loud horn as well. I'd expect the rider was the one wandering around in a 'Polite' marked gear to go with it. The Maverick style helmet dents the image a bit, but does point to someone with identity issues.

I wonder if he has an extra large battery stored in that exhaust silencer.??

A tad harsh and judgemental of you all maybe? :)

Makes me a little reticent in sharing the fact that I rode down with my brother in law who has recently returned to biking after a very long break.
Here's his new acquisition and he's absolutely  loving it  :lala:

To misquote Animal Farm ... Two wheels GOOD, Four wheels BAD.

Is that the standard tank on the sporty? The front mounts look a little erm, utilitarian. Then there's the bits 'twixt tank and heads, no doubt hiding a nest of cables and hoses.

Other than the pipes a standard 2018 "Iron" Sportster as far as I know.

Nothing but love for a Sportster. Rode one when I bought the Strom, biggest grin ever, even if I did have tinnitus and vibration white foot within an hour.

Well done to your brother-in-law on returning to biking, and a cruiser is always a good choice  :thumb:

Does he have any business cards? There might be some local flooding over the next couple of weeks looking at the long term forecast.

Those ditches won't empty themselves.

(Good on him for buying another bike :))
