Where is the best place to take power from for spot lamps
-
I would suggest you get one of these, lots of us use them.
It's a fused relay with four outputs so you'll have some spare for other accessories. It switches with the ignition so you won't leave anything switched on.

I agree with Mick, Bigpie's relay is excellent and you even get the correct connectors to connect the device to. Easy and safe switched connections! Highly recommended.

When I got my strom, spots were already fitted with a switch to the left of the tacho - but what I discovered was when I moved the screen forwards or backwards it would upset the switch and then no lights so I replaced the switch with one which has smaller connections on the back.
If you're fitting it yourself, just think about the back of the switch when you buy it - unless of course, you're going to mount it on the bars then just ignore what I said...

All good advice. I wired mine via a Bigpie fuse box, switch on the bars.

Fuse box is the best bet.

I installed spot lights that I got from Cosmo Accessories. I took my positive feed from the switched 12v on the ignition loom, split the cable from behind the radiator and then used heatshrink to make it waterprooof, works perfectly.

Depends if you want them on all the time, or just with high beams (what I'm going to go for, to prevent issues with beam alignment).
I was going to investigate if a micro fuse tap would fit in the fuse box, and take a feed off the high beam circuit to switch a relay, then turning the spots on. Saves pulling more current over the high beam circuit (although already fused at 15A, a 55W bulb pulls approx 5A) - essentially how the bigpie box works but for the high beam circuit instead (and not tapping a convenient connector).
