Title: Standard height
Post by: clutchspring on December 08, 2020, 06:11:32
Hello every one, would someone with a v strom 1000 2019 model be so kind enough to measure your side stand & main stand hight,
My bike came with lust lowering links on the rear & I might change it back to stock height.
Not shore if its fitted with shortened stands.
If some one would measure the stands from the pivot bolt fixing holes to the ground that would be great,
Thanks,
Ian.

If the stands haven't been modified you can normally tell when a bike has been lowered because when you put it on the centre stand it's harder to achieve and the back wheel is abnormally high off the ground.

Also, the bike will sit more upright on the side stand

When this has been a question for me, I measure the length of the suspension link. Then I post on here asking for the standard length.

Hi everyone , I'm still looking for some one to accurately measure the hight of their sidestand off a 2018 / 2019 v Strom 1000.measurement from centre of pivot bolt to floor.
I had one kind member reply but their measurements wear a bit vague, but thanks anyway.

Thanks,
Ian.

My 2014 is about 240mm from bolt centre to the bottom of the straight/start of the foot.

No probs. However: I measured it with a tape measure whilst the bike was on the centre stand, so it won't have been the most accurate of measurements. I'll try to take a more accurate one later. But, I don't know how much you'd have to shave off it if you lowered it, so if you only need 5-10mm my measurement might not have been accurate enough.

My bike has already been lowered , & I'm putting it back to standard hight . I just needed to know if I'd have to buy another side stand.
But given the measurement by Simon  of 240mm of his stand it looks like my bike is still got it's standard side stand.

Thanks,
Ian.
