Title: DL650 Service Interval
Post by: kafue on September 21, 2020, 14:15:30
The owners manual states the service intervals are 600/4000/7500 etc.

Someone ( a dealer) told me that Suzuki have skipped the 4000 mile service. Is this correct ?

I simply do mine including filter every 5000 miles. It’s easy to remember,e.g.5,10,15,20K etc.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but there used to be closer stated service intervals which I believe was changed 2014/2015 so if your bike is newer than that it will fall into the less frequent category. As there were substantial engine changes from gen 1 to gen 2 (2012 on-) that seemed logical but it came during gen 2 models so there was no sense to it as the engines were the same.

Correct Joe, it used to be every 3,500 miles. Its virtually the same engine, just a touch lower compression ratio and obviously a few electronic bits to make it more emmision compliant. I still do my K9 every 5,000 mls. It’s easier to remember at my age 🤔😂.

My 650 is on a "68" plate.

Thanks everyone for the feed back.
