I can buy a pair of Suzuki panniers removed from a 2014 Veek for £180 but I was wondering if anyone had any issues using the 2014 mounting kit on later bikes ? the 2014 model has two mounting kits listed 93700-31810-000 @ £64 (https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/search/part/93700-31810-000) and 93700-31811-000 @ £76.19 (https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/search/part/93700-31811-000) but what's the difference ?
The one sold specifically for my 2018 model costs £100 but looks no different, even the Givi racks use the old 2014 parts so all the spacing between bolt holes should be exactly the same.
Would someone in the west midlands be kind enough to let me try out their 2014 mounting kit on my 2018 bike ?
Or could someone who has done what I'm trying to do tell me everything will be OK lol

You can use the earlier Veek panniers and fitting kit on the 2018 Veek. New member Redline has just done this without problem so he says.

Thanks for the reply, I had a feeling that someone else had done it but I just couldn't find anything when trying to search for it.

After a week of hunting for part numbers and tracking down parts I finally got my boxes fitted.
So in case anyone asks again, yes the old 2014 mounting kit and panniers will fit the 2017/18 model but if you plan to use the panniers with a givi top box you'll need to source your own bolts for the Givi rack support bars, they will require 35 to 40mm bolts instead of the supplied 25mm ones.
You can see the support bar I mentioned in the last picture, they line up behind the lower left bolt on the pannier mount.

Very Nice :thumb: :text-goodpost:

May I just ask a, possibly, daft question. Does the 2017 650 require a frame for the Suzuki panniers? I was under the impression that the fixings were built onto the sub-frame. I've been looking at panniers and this thread will prevent me from making an expensive cock up!

You might try the Suzuki website. From what I can see the side case brackets are an add on listed at £105. Although it say "Bracket" I should hope that is for the pair. Whilst not showing the model / age it does show the 2016 model with the traditional pannier mounts. If it was me looking I would ask my local Suzuki dealer for advice.
Just me I know but I bought Give pannier rack for a 10 plate and had to take it back because although my bike is on a 60 plate it is a K9 and the racks are slighter different.

Does the 2017 650 require a frame for the Suzuki panniers?
The 2017/18 version of the 650 does in fact support these panniers but Suzuki list a mounting kit which I believe might be specific to the 650's layout, I may be wrong as the new 650 had the sub frame taken from the 1000 parts bin thrown on to it but that doesn't mean it uses the same pillion foot peg positions as the 1000.
It should look similar to mine with the cases removed.
The part number for the 650 mounting kit is 93700-31820-000 (https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/view/93700-31820-000)
I've added some pictures that show the difference between the place holders supplied with the bike and the mounting kit.

I have just fitted some SHAD panniers that use their P system for fitting. They look great and were a doddle to fit total cost was £363.77. I had looked several times for original Suzuki panniers but it all seemed too complicated. I am more than happy with the SHAD system. But it is an alternative for anyone looking.
