Post by: Beeroclock on August 04, 2017, 18:40:10
noticed this rasping noise when throttling off around 4.5 to 5k revs in the last few days - doesn't sound right at all - any ideas what it could be? have done a quick video

Thanks Phil

sounds like something loose and rattling due to vibration. I'd (suggest you) check all your nuts and washers.
Had something similar with the plastic panels on my last bike.

Yes, an annoying little loose thing somewhere.

Take In me shed up on his offer to come round and check it out. The only way!  :icon_wink:

Hello beeroclock, that sounds like it could be engine bar rattle, a not uncommon thing to happen. Possibly where the 2 sides are joined up at the front? That's just a wild guess, but where 'crash bars' , or radiator guards etc are concerned, might well be worth checking out, tightening, or putting some rubber washers in there somewhere.

Gasson is right - it's the Givi bars middle section - rubber washers are in but the cylinder still moves rotates have tightened it up as far as it will go - am thinking a bit of teflon plumbers tape - might do the trick..

Cheers Phil

I had this, I loosened everything, tightened the centre, then the rest. Noise gone.
