Title: Paddock stands?
Post by: himaro on July 21, 2016, 15:43:48
So, my glee doesn't have a center stand so I'm looking at getting something like a paddock stand to prop the back wheel up when doing maintanence.
Only issue is I live in a flat and space is already at a premium for storing stuff. I don't really have the space to store something that big unless it's collapsible
I've heard you can get a single sided stand that is used in conjunction with the bikes side stand to lift it an inch or so off the ground but I can't find them anywhere now.

Any advise?

I'd advise a centre stand. But there are things like the packJack.......http://www.packjack.ca/

Having almost had a disaster with my DL650 on a Paddock Stand, I bought a Centre Stand. They're not that expensive and a doddle to fit.  :fix:

......And you've always got it with you. Won't take up any space in the flat, either.

Center stands are costing about £200 ish!
Yes they're a lot better but I'm running things on the cheap sadly
That Snapjack is the sort of thing I was looking for

Cosmo does one for about £100 delivered.

Several members on here have one & generally give good reviews.

Obviously it's your call but the first time you drop the bike your savings will be gone.

A centre stand is the way forward but if space and budget are tight and you need something to help with maintenance you won't go far wrong with one of these
