Title: Engine RPM @ 60 & 70 MPH
Post by: krisv on July 09, 2013, 15:29:04
Hi,

Can anybody tell me what the engine rpm is under the following conditions for a K4/K5/K6 Wee?

60 MPH Indicated on Speedo
70 MPH Indicated on Speedo
6th Gear
Assuming Standard Sprockets

Cheers,

Kris

Well 5k revs is an indicated 68mph, you can work it out from there. However, 68mph on the speedo is not 68 mph on the road, probably around 62 or 63mph.

You can check any numbers you want at http://www.gearingcommander.com/ (http://www.gearingcommander.com/) and even do sprocket changes. Just be aware the numbers are based on the stock instrumentation so indicated speeds are shown whereas actual speeds will be about 8% lower.
