Title: Goodridge lines, advice ?

Need advice please blokes n' girls;

I'm looking for front brake lines for my 2007 model DL1000, checked eBay and found a new set of Goodridge lines for a DL1000 from years 2002 - 2006.

Would anyone know if these would fit my 2007 model ??

This should be fine and fit all the 1000cc Vees right up to the last sold in the UK. This is the 2 line kit where both lines connect direct to the master cylinder and each line then goes direct to each caliper. It should be straightforward to fit once you've worked out which line goes where and allow for the various angles of the unions to get the best fit and smoothest lines. It will certainly sharpen the brake up quite noticeably. I would suggest that while you're doing the job to also check all the other brake components such as the caliper slider pins, pistons plus cylinders and pads. Best of luck...

Yea I've fitted twin separate lines before to previous bikes I've owned yonks ago, such better/stronger braking OK! I've front & rear EBC double H sintered pads fitted on my Vee, been using them for many years, great pads.

It was my concern that my bike is 07 model, and they advertise these brake lines up to 06, but as you state I don't see why they wouldn't fit as I'm sure there was no change regards front brakes from 06 models to 08 or 09 models.

Think I'll order them, decent price at £40 notes!

Zinc plated ends!- I bought a full set of Hel lines from BikeBitsNI (http://www.bikebitsni.com (http://www.bikebitsni.com)) for £65 inc fluid. Stainless steel throughout - fit and forget. While I was at it, I changed the fork oil to 15W. (Intermediate Silkolene) Excellent result.

+ 1 for HEL lines and +1 for the oil upgrade, both well worthwhile  :thumb:

An old thread I know....

I have noticed that my brakes have started to feel a little spongy on my vee.

Was it an easy job to replace the brake lines and which ones did you go for in the end?

I refer you to the above & my last post - yes, simple enough to do, careful bleeding is the secret here!
X months on, my brakes still feel good - no regrets.  :thumb:
