hi all was wondering about
Madstad Windscreen Bracket but AT $ 84 (pounds)it seams a bit high.
are they worth that or not.

Absolutely! Spend an afternoon bombing up and down your favourite piece of road while you set it up properly and you'll agree. You can use home-made spacers and the like but it is a lot of work to get the setup right. The image below shows roughly where I am happiest with mine. I'm 6'2", sat on a Suzuki gel seat and let's say I'm prepared for food shortages!

Just bought a Madstad from baz tarred and I now have a problem.
I think my "favourite piece of road" is the D71 through the Gorges du Verdon. Seems a bit extreme just to set up my Madstad. Any suggestions...? :shrug:

Juv has a point, a Madstad MUST be set up on your favourite road - it will never work if you don't..off you go, get the planning going, SWMBO will understand!!

Ferry booked; Santander in June and a few days to ride back up taking in the Millau bridge along the way. Would like to head across further to the east again but not sure if time will permit. May not be my favourite road but the Madstad's going to be tested on a few 300-400 mile days.

Anyone recommend the cheapest place for the madstad?

Out of interest. Those who have the madstad what angle of adjustment have you found eliminates the buffeting? Would you say the top tilted towards or away from you?

I've got it mounted on the mid position, according to Madstad, Suzuki high. And I put the screen right up and liltEd a third back for motorway and half hight and same tilt for town riding. When its hot its all the way down and full tilt. I'm 6ft.

I've bought mine now and got it today and its now fitted however I'm still at the testing phase. I wasn't aware there was forum discount so have had to pay full whack

I'm not a 100% sure that we had discount, I just checked and I couldn't find anything so maybe I was imagining it.
I have mine mounted on the 4th/secret high position. Stock screen on it and it's moved all the way up and tilted back halfway. I'm 5'11 and 12 stone and I have a Vee seat on my Wee (the size of your arse makes a difference to the height you are above the seat.) The helmet you have also make a lot of difference. If I wear my Shoei Qwest I need to adjust it a little bit compared to when I wear my X-Lite X-551. The peak on the X-551 makes the airflow different.
I know it's not really safe, but if you don't do the knobs up tight you can adjust it on the go until you are happy and then tighten them. I sometimes undo the knobs, adjust the screen and do them up again on the go (though I usually do it on a quiet roads and slow down quite a bit if I do this.)

I used to have an MRA screen on Madstad brackets which were cranked as far back as they would go, I.e. the screen was raked right back. Nice set-up, worked fine, then I decided to sell the bike while I went travelling, stripped all the accessories off it and sold them, but could not get shot of the bike! So now I am back, I'm riding it with the original screen and you know what? It's all right. Certainly not bad enough to go out and spend another 150-odd quid on replicating the old set-up - but that's just me, I know that the buffeting thing is different for almost everyone.

I bought one and fits good in my DL650. The problem is when water comes a bit on the speedmeter panel, always when rains a lot. But did not have problems. It's really good because the highest position is below my view so in road is fantastic, in cities it disturbs me a bit specially with cars close to front wheel, need to move down. My wife is still complaining about wind, she complains about everything. I should leave her in the petrol station or I should buy bigger Windscreen .
