A year ago this week I had a new knee and have been off the Strom since, as am unable to bend my knee enough to get my foot under the gear selector.
So I bought a seat from a breakers for £50 and took a bread-knife to it, with a view to taking some of the pillion area down to the rider level, so I can move my arse back, thereby requiring less bend from the knee to get on the pegs etc.
I then took the butchered seat to JPupholstery in Guildford (fairly local to me) having been pointed in their direction by a moto-x mate who uses them a lot !
Jane (of JP) took 5 days to sort out my hackings, add some addition padding, where I had over-hacked and created a cover that matches (actually much better than) the original. ALL for close to £60.... Incredible value and service. can't recommend Jane enough.....
Just fitted the seat to my bike and I can (reasonably) comfortably get my foot under.....
Having spent 12 months fearing a future with a scooter, today is huge..... MOT, tax and Ins next week, then back to 'normal'.....
