Title: 3 season gloves
Post by: Stonec0ld on March 06, 2017, 19:41:28
Righto chaps,

I'm looking for some glove recommendations or your opinions on these I've seen.

I have a pair of Heine Gericke Pathan gloves and heated grips for winter, so I'm looking specifically for gloves that will see me through spring to autumn. In this country that means pretty much all weather except freezing cold. My requirements are:
I prefer a hard armour but it's not essential, and I'm looking at a max of about £130 because I've previously tried a cheap pair from Aldi but the seams dug in after 30 mins on the bike.

The 3 that I'm looking at (to make use of the Get Geared discount) are:

So what have you? Anyone had any experiences with these gloves? If not, do they look decent? Any other gloves that fit the bill that you'd recommend?

Don't quite match some of your criteria Paul but for me Held Air N Dry (twin chamber design) are very good.
Best glove I have ever used for hot weather and much warmer than you might think in cold, truly three season and ideal to use with heated grips.
Should be able to get them for less than £150 if you shop around. :thumb:

Funnily enough I was just looking at those today.

Slightly more than I was planning on paying but they do look quality.

Never had any Held gloves before, is their sizing pretty accurate?

I wear a size 10/XL and my hand measures 8 inches from the tip of my middle finger to the bottom of the heel of my hand.
Their sizing seems more generous than some other makes I have tried on, hope this helps.

I have Held air & dry not to everyone's taste
As a Little bulky in dry mode. That said they have been
great so far and unlike many other "waterproof "
Gloves have kept my hands bone dry for many hours in torrential
Downpours

So I went with the Dane Tyril gloves as they seemed to fit the bill and looked the slimmest.

They arrived today, and first impressions were good, not too bulky, decent fit and the touchscreen compatible finger and thumb was a decent touch. However... no visor wipe.  ###

I checked the website to confirm, and yes it says they have a visor wipe. Checked the gloves again just in case I missed it somehow, and nope.

I'll be sending them back tomorrow... I've now ordered a pair of these.

I've attached some pics of the Dane gloves. They really are nice, just don't fit my needs

I have used these for a couple of years, I don't ride except for pleasure so tend to dodge bad weather. But I have been in bad wet cold weather with these as well as sunny days and I use them with heated grips.. I find them very good.. And you can save £100

I already have a pair of those that I use over winter. I'm looking for a pair of gloves to use for the rest of the British "seasons"

So the Rukka gloves arrived, and they're fantastic.

Nice fit, feel warm but not too thick. Gore tex and most importantly a visor wiper!

Went out for a quick spin in the pouring rain for an hour and no leakage, the visor wipe was thoroughly tested...

Took a ride to Cleethorpes today, on the ride back I got caught in sustained heavy rain. At least an hour and a half on the motorway in probably the heaviest rain I've ever been in, but when I got home my hands were completely dry in these gloves, which is unfortunately more than I can say for my undercrackers...
