My Glee plus Kappa Panniers and Top Box
« on: January 12, 2014, 16:20:35 »
I bought a Kappa K48 top box (can get two helmets in there  :lala: ) and two Kappa panniers from e-bay recently.  When I got them they weren't the "as new" condition they were described as but I couldn't be arsed to take them back (got 'em for a good price too) so I've cleaned them up myself this weekend.  I gave them a nice coat of Carplan Black Trim Wax and they've cleaned up great.  They totally change the look of the bike - looks all grown up now!

Can't wait for the better weather to get out on it again.   :)))

Cheers Martin W.  The thing is that I'd followed the instructions on your link first time.  I'm not sure why the photos didn't display at first... but no trouble they are on there now.... somehow!!!  Happy days. :thumb:

Cheers chaps.

I've never ridden with panniers before so I'm looking forward to giving it a go soon.

They are massive - about 40l each I think Fatbelly, plenty of room for weekend trip gear.  :thumb:

I know what you mean about stealthy with it being all black 2112.  I might add some reflective stuff to the top box to make me a bit more visible. To be fair, when I bought it second hand colour wasn't a big deal to me - it was more about the deal (I'm from Yorkshire!  :greetings-clapyellow: ) but I like the look of the white in memory of my old Varadero 125.

Come on Spring!!!!

I have givi trekkers on mine and they really do make the bike wide .. becuase I can't see them.. one idea I had (but not yet done) is to get some old water pump hose (thick black rubber) and attach them to the bar ends.. tht way the bars are the same width as the boxes and they won't damage anything if you rub bike against something  :thumb:
