Probably more control without the panniers on!, It looks wet under wheel. Brave man risking the panniers in the event of a drop. Looks like good fun.

Probably cheaper to damage them rather than the bikes plastics in the event of a not too serious off. I call my pannier racks my rear crash bars  :shy:

I was asked to keep the panniers on as the shoot had to demonstrate a Sportsbike, Commuter and a Tourer.  I took the corners VERY carefully, but was OK opening up on the straights.

What I should have done was remove the luggage and do a lap to see how much difference the air-braking effect was making, but it was so wet, I just couldn't be arsed.

I can report however, that with full luggage on, keeping the revs mainly above 5000 rpm and red lining on the straights, I still managed 49mpg!!

Great photo.
Luggage does sadly affect the handling.  My bike loaded as per my avatar with approx 25kg of luggage in total (west Wales trip ) would pick the front wheel up slightly when powering out of tight corners.  Ace fun.

my luggage was empty, save for my GoPro kit in the topbox, left all my crap in the hotel room.

I have to be honest, I really didn't notice the luggage on the bike, it didn't seem to make any difference to the handling.

What is just under your left eye? Doesn't look like part of the helmet?

It's a new bike heads up display my mate has developed, we were having a testing day whilst he was having a promotional video filmed.
