At my age I might prefer "absolution".
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Very interested in these tracers myself...If I didn't have outstanding finance on the wee I might have already bought one.
Seem to be incredibly good bikes and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has to say about them in a few months with a few more miles on them etc etc.
Although I cannot imagine there would be any problems.

How is the wind protection on them on motorways etc?

I suffer no buffeting with the standard screen on the lowest setting, it is far less susceptible to side wind than my S10.

It's also bloody comfortable out of the box. Usually by now I'm looking for peg lowering kits, comfort seat etc.

As well as the adjustable screen ( Madstad style), it comes with Centre Stand and a 12v outlet as standard  :)

Does anyone know what this type of connector is called and where I can get a female one to fit in the male plug? This is the spare 12V switched connection handily provided by Mr. Yamaha if you wanted to fit a 2nd 12v socket on the other side, but I want to wire my Garmin power supply in there instead.

The Tall, Thirsty, Red-Named bloke has finally seen this after being on holiday.
 :)

The Tracer is the only competitor bike I have seen so far that looks interesting  :thumb:

Collected it yesterday, rode up to longman and then we went to Grimsby (avoiding motoways) for some scampi and chips. After that we snaked it down to Skegness on the A1031 and A52, lovely roads. I went home via Boston, Spalding, Stamford and Corby. The Tracer can make up time really good if you're in a hurry  Once on the A14 I put on some speed and I love how relaxed it feels running a bit faster than one should (that's all I'm saying.) When I got home the odo was showing 340 miles for the day, it's a good thing I booked the first service for next Saturday. Thumbs up to the blokes at ALF England in Bedworth, they were great to deal with, had time for explaining and answering anything and are always happy to help :thumb:

Seat was killing my arse, but if I move a bit back it's fine, still better than a DR-Z seat, but not as good as a Strom one. I set the seat to the highest setting before I left Skegness and it felt like that was a more comfy, perhaps the angle changes a bit.

I think the stock tyre pressures are a bit high. They are 36 front and 42 rear, not even the heavy Strom needs that when you're loaded and two up. I'm dropping the pressures by 3 PSI front and rear. The stock tyres are Dunlop ones and I'm not a big fan of Dunlop tyres on bikes. Being pumped up that hard makes them skittish, but I think the suspension is also part of that, it's set up hard from stock. Once the pressures are down, if it doesn't make an acceptable difference, I'll set the suspension to the stock "soft" settings and then play around from there.

Mr. Rat, I haven't managed to find out what type of connector that us, but I'll figure it out eventually, will let you know.

1 mile on the clock!

ps. It's not that clean any more.

Lovely looking machine. That screen is rather large, it's not the stock one, is it?

It's the stock one. Doesn't look that big in real life.

I've seen a few people complain about the seat, so a refurbishment might be something to budget for.
Now on a Super Tenere having put 64k miles on a 2011 DL650

Seeing as the one in the background also has blue wheels, then I take it they are a standard offering? I'm not sure I like the look of them (or the blue forks), but I have liked the general look of the bike at the dealers.

It does look large, but from the rider's perspective it's fairly low. Even on the highest setting it's only about mid chest height.

I don't think the seat is too uncomfortable, but a change might be in order in the future. I'll only get the rider seat modified, the pillion one is fine. It's nice that it's a split seat so you can change only the one you want to change.

Blue colour scheme comes as standard. There are other colours you can choose from as well.

If not, take a look at some of the other connectors on the site.

Thanks Simon, I've previously gone through every connector on that site and not found it. The one I'm looking for happens to be unsealed and rarer than hen's teeth. I've spent almost 2 hours on Google looking at every connector I could find and haven't found it yet.

Does anyone work at a Yamaha dealership who can find out, pretty please?

Juv, not sure if you got sorted with a connector. This site has a comprehensive list.
