Delkevic with db killer removed

Hi all
I recently fitted a 350mm oval delkevic exhaust to my 2012 DL650. I've been running it with the db killer installed but would like to remove it. The only thing stopping me at the moment is a concern of running the bike lean. Has anyone had a bike on a dyno with this set up and the db killer removed?

Are Delkevic making an exhaust now for the 2012> DL650? on their website I can only find exhausts for the old model,
starting to think about fitting an end can again, the bike is just a bit too quiet, while it's great for long runs it is just a bit too bland for me at times.

Your lamda sensor will ensure it doesn't run too lean.

Any chance you could post a pic of the exhaust fitted? was it difficult to fit?
I see it listed on ebay now, I might try buying direct from them to get the forum discount, the 350mm oval seems about right to me, around 4kg weight saving too.

I have the baffle fitted, I have noticed a 5mpg drop since fitting the Delkevic exhaust,
is this normal? or does the bike need to be tuned to suit this new exhaust?
power feels better and I suppose I'm revving a bit harder since I can hear the v twin better now.
getting around 53mpg now in mixed riding, nothing fast, rarely past 60mph but enjoying her through the twisties all the same.

You answered your own question there.. "revving it a bit harder".

The single biggest impact on fuel economy (and tyre life) is the rider and how they ride.  It's why we all get different mpg and tyre longevity.

As long as the fuel range doesn't impact my riding, and it really can't on the vstrom, I personally favour fun over mpg/tyre life on a bike.  If I'm enjoying myself, I accept the cost.

Yeah maybe so, just seems a big drop,going to try her now for a few hundred miles with no baffle, then I'm fitting the longer quitter baffle so I'll see if that makes any difference.
either way I like the new exhaust through towns/traffic but not so much at cruising speed, even with ear plugs it still seems a bit loud.

I noticed on a video that the Delkevic seem to come with a really long baffle? Is it just the one they come with - just from your comments seems to suggest there maybe a shorter baffle too? cheers

They come with a short baffle, a longer one is available that's supposed to be quieter,haven't fitted it yet so the jury is still out.

Mine came with 2 baffles of the same length, but one had a full diameter hole at the header end, and one came with a smaller diameter hole here.  I toyed with the idea of plugging this hole altogether which shoul quieten it in theory, but I don't know how it would run.

The short baffle that came with mine was solid at the header end,and the bike runs fine with it.just a bit loud for me but I'm getting used to it.
