Oh Bugger
« on: February 18, 2013, 00:58:56 »
As it was a nice sunny day today and as I had been a very very good boy.
Helped my misses clean out her mum & dads loft on Saturday, with 3 trips to the tip included.
3 broken TVs every dinner service or what was left of them from over the last 50 years, oh and what seemed like every cardboard box from every small electrical appliance they ever bought. As they said "Well you never know you might need to take it back and you always need the box"
Took the misses out saturday night, for a nice romantic meal at a posh bistro.
So with plenty of brownie points earned I thought I would cash them in. Thought I would ride up to j&s try on some boots(old ones let in quicker than our immigration service!) it would also give me chance to try out the chain and sprocket fitted.
Got vee out, got kitted up and set off. Two minutes down the road thought mmmmmm something not right. Pulled over and checked tyres, rear one was nearly flat, with a big screw sticking out the tyre. So back home I go.
Instead of a nice shinny pair of waterproof boots it looks like its a new rear tyre for me .

My question is this
Do I get to keep my hard earned brownie points to use on a later day. Or as I suspect have they become null and void as soon as my arse touched my bike seat!!

You have certainly 'cashed in' a few brownie points but you still have some in reserve. This actual figure can (and will) vary wildly, depleting to 0 at the drop of a hat in certain circumstances. Tread carefully and try to 'top up' the balance slightly every now and then.
It's pronounced 'twenty-one-twelve'

Under my wifes regime, you would now be showing a zero balance at best and there would be no sympathy available. I feel your pain brother.

You need money for tyres now and you didn't have enough points for that anyway. Therefore you need to earn some more for the tyres, then start building up ride points again.

Years ago  an old Yorkshire born Manager said,
"never be
too kind
to your wife .......
she'll not appreciate you,
whatever you do".
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

What's wrong with the tyre ?  Just get a bigger screw and she'll be right mate

Seriously, why didn't you plug the damm thing and go for a ride?  Surely the tread is OK and it is just a hole, I've ridden 20,000km with a plug in my front tyre from new, it certainly wasn't getting replaced

On topic, credit is due plus you should get sympathy points

I am confused?

Of course they would.

Have you not seen what those nuns did to the Nazi cars at the end of "The Sound of Music"?
