Trouble starting!
« on: August 08, 2015, 13:07:52 »
Hi all I have a 2010 wee and have had recent problems with the battery. Replaced with a new one but the little beast still will not start! Before this episode never missed a beat in its 7000 mile life so nothing speacial to report. Any ideas? It turns over fine but as if no spark! Not even trying! Someone said about a lead that goes up to bars beside clutch! Is this a possble cause?  :angry-tappingfoot:

There's a plug just under the clutch housing that if it comes out it'll stop the bike starting. Think it is two tiny wires that connect underneath the bars. Don't know if it's that but have a check.

A problem with the clutch lever switch would prevent the starter motor from turning at all. The usual problem with an engine that turns over but doesn't fire is flooding. Try opening the throttle while cranking until the engine starts to fire.

Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

Have tried the open throttle but no joy! Will see if the wires are OK and report back but it is turning over!
