The session length was set to 3600 seconds so I don't see that being the problem. I have increased it, let me know if it makes any difference  :thumb:

Bleargh!  Just did it again.....

I could cope except that the back buttton dumps the page where I've just written an extensive reply, so I can't copy/post it once I've logged back in.

It's true what Mr Diver says re. Firefox. it's become too heavy and slow trying to be all things to everybody. Google is good and light which I'm using just now but I have this underlying suspicion of all things Google. Apple Safari is a good, fast alternative and I have it installed and use it sometimes. My wife likes using Opera, which is another good alternative. Re. Linux I have it on a partition on one of my drives, It used to come in very handy before Win7 became so reliable. In the days of XP crashes with me were frequent and being able to boot into Linux to rescue files was a godsend. Linux is getting better and better, the latest version of Ubuntu is click and go just like windows and super fast in comparison, just there is a limitation in available software but if you only wanted Internet, office and editing then considering it's all free, it's great.

It's normally fine - 100 times more stable than anything windows.  It seems to be a morning thing.  Feels like a time-out, though there is no time-out message, just "You need to be logged in."
