I've had one for a couple of years with no problems. Personally I prefer it when using the batteries you can buy for it, as then you don't have to connect / disconnect the lead from the socket every time you get on / off. And it means you can be toasty warm when off the bike.

Depends on the heating setting but I'd reckon on about 4 -5 hours on level 2 setting. 1 being lowest 5 is max. Not a cheap option, but less faff.

I've also used a Keis waistcoat for 21/2 years now. The waistcoat  is very effective and for the price (its still about the same as I paid and often discounted), I'd say go for it. The problem with Keis heated gear, (I also had a pair of the in-soles), in my experience is the wiring is not very durable. I've just had to repair the cable to the waistcoat controller again after it split. Keis also use a smaller size of coax plugs to other heated clothing manufacturers which can be a problem if you want to link it up to say a Gerbings controller.

Love mine!!!
Also bought the battery pack as it means I can use it when watching the boy play football!!!
It is good for at least 2 hours on level 4, longer on lower levels. Invaluable!
