colin:
was surprised how much tyres have gone up in the last year.
just having a rear fitted this afternoon. £166.   :groan:

endintears:
I'll need a pair next time round  :groan: :groan:
Great tyre though  :thumb:

colin:
don't know what they will be like in the future. Made in France now, in the Dunlop factory

Brockett:
Neat trick eh? Buy a tyre company, move it abroad and the folks back home have to pay the import costs and duty. The former employees are now out of work, there is the negative trade balance, which lowers the value of the pound and everything that is imported costs more. Do that to enough UK manufacturers and what do you know?  Everything (almost) is made in China and the country's jobs and wealth has been exported. This not a party political rant as they have all been guilty. No political party is prepared to stand up for UK jobs and the UK economy. Eventually we will become poorer and poorer as the economy is based on "taking in each others washing" a.k.a. service industries.   None of that explains why I really do not like "Bridgestones".

NeilM:
I suspect the Avon factory site in Melksham has a LOT more value as housing / development land than it has had as a tyre factory for many years.

Terrible shame.

I have been on Avon Spirit ST's since just after getting my 650, partly because they were made 'locally' and they really are excellent tyres.
