I stopped by a bike shop on Coventry to try these on, they were selling them for £216. Had a thought about it and on Sunday I ordered some off Ebay @ £174.99 (best offer deal.) They should be delivered tomorrow and I can honestly say I've never before looked forward to getting "new shoes" like I do now lol They'll be in service minimum 3 hours a day, 5 days a week and I hope that I can report only good things about them.

ps. my new RST Paragon II gear (trousers and jacket) was also delivered today, it's like Xmas!

I have been using the Hien Gerricke version of these boots and they have been realy good.  The soles on the last pair wore out and they still kepp the water out.  be aware though that not all boot that look the same are.
I also have a similar pair of boots made by Diadora and they leaked like a sieve after a couple of months.  The sole on one boot also started to come off, but a local shoe shop fixed it OK.

anyone tried alt berg boots : http://www.altberg.co.uk/Web/motorcycle.jsp

They were highly recommended in a few reviews for outlasting "normal" off the shelf bike boots
And that they are custom made to your foot

Look OK to me but my only concern is if they have the same level of protection

Although on the one pair they claim MCN gave them a top test award http://www.altberg.co.uk/Web/motorcycle_HoggAWMicro.jsp

Just a couple of things about the TCX boot. I have The Afore mentioned Hg Tcx rally gore boot and my friend has the tcx. Now all thought they are almost the same (minor style differences) We have found that the Tcx boot clips weaker than the Hein's. Having said that we both ride 20000-25000 miles a year in all weather and I am on my second pair of Hien's (1st set replace under warranty due to one boot leaking) and we both  :thumb:  :thumb: agree that they are by far the best boots for all year round use. BMW also make there Sagrto?? boot which is the same. All These Boots Should come With a 5 year Warranty because of the gore Tex. If when you buy them they say different walk away and go some were else. I paid £169.99 for Mine 3 years ago.  :obscene-drinkingchug:  :obscene-drinkingchug:

Had my eye on some of these but everyone seems to have put there pricing up £20/25 in the last couple of weeks.  can't get them much below £200 now.

It maybe so they can 'legitimately' discount them again during the sales / bike show, so looks like I may need to suffer cold feet for another few weeks.

Have a look on Ebay, Ghostbikes will accept a £175 Best Offer.

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/ghostbikes_uk/

I recently bought a pair, they hurt me so I sent them back and got a full refund, no questions. Overall the service from them was very good and I'll definitely buy from them again even if something is a few quid more than elsewhere.

Ghostbikes were originally one of those advertising on ebay at around £185, now advertising at £206 along with everyone else.

Good bunch though, I have bought a few bits from them including a Sharp 5 star rated Nitro helmet for £35 !!  Fare enough.

I didn't actually check the current price before posting, whoops :) Maybe it was a change from the manufacturer's/distributor's side if everyone went up in price?
