Dunlop Sportmax GPR-300

I think these are fairly new tyres as I can't see any reviews around the web.

I'm about to replace my stock tyres after getting 11k out of them...would anyone have any opinions on what these may be like? They are competitively priced.

I basically use the bike for 85-90% commuting (mostly motorway) and the rest weekend trips ride outs.

Dunlop usually are expensive and out dated by the time they come out.
Expected mileage is usually a fair bit less than Bridgestone or Michelin yet Dunlop come in more expensive.
Also don't be fooled by Dunlop being a British marque- they make bugger all in the UK. Much of what they make originates in Asia and european importers won't touch alot of it.

I would scrap the idea and go with something recommended on this forum, you then know you are getting value for money,and a tyre that works well.

From my limited googl(e)ing (where is the spell checker?  ###) the GPR300 is aimed at lighter 'bikes, sub 400cc. The wear rates seem horrific 2000 miles on something called a CB 300.

I've used Roadsmarts, they've never given me any grief other than the harsh ride and the rears (RS2's) only lasting 4.5k. My present rear RS3 is on 3mm in center and has done 5k, I'll be changing it soon. Next time I'm going for the Continental Road Attack.

My current Roadsmart 3s seem firmer/harsher than the PR4s they replaced. That said, they have fantastic grip just like the PR4s.

I had Metz roadtec 01's on previously, 9k miles and could have gone more. on Michelin Road 5 trails now, 500 miles done, OK but I think I preferred the Metz Roadtec 01.

Thanks all, I ended up doing that....though not the Anakee's or similar that most go for.
Saw a thread on the Maxxis M-6103 Promaxx saying they were good so I went for those at a great price. I think they will suit my needs....going on this weekend

Our works tyre supplier sells Maxxis.
And they don't recommend them for any bike, but keep them as the budget option when someone is too stingey for "propper tyres"

Sorry but that's what they say.

At the end of the day, the tyres are the only thing that keeps you right way up and it's not worth skimping on.

Sounds similar to what an old mate who worked for KwikFit used to call remolds. "Happy Deaths" he called them!

I'll see how I go, I'm not a particularly spirited driver and drive 100% on the roads. The one bloke who reported having thm on here semed pleased with them.

I had a pair of Maxxis ST's on my KTM, they were very good tyres.
