Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

Yes of course there should be glitter and decorations and trees and reindeer and Santa and elves and fake presents in real wrapping and footprints in the snow and nuts and cake and pudding and roast turkey and brandy and beer and more beer and crap on the telly and more beer and paper hats and more beer and arguments  and fighting and police and ambulances and trips to A&E and well ......... all the things that make it a special time of the year.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Anyway I have to take Rusty to task over this poll.

1. Who said this board was calm and civilised?  :dl_hyperhysteria:
2. What is Xmas nonense?

1) It's calm and civilised compared to much of the Web.
2) Xmas nonsense is the relentless pretence of being well-off, happy, caring, jolly, philanthropic citizens which starts between bonfire night and Halloween  ( not trick or treat night, that's a fallacy invented by Chicago confectioners) and lasts until they get their credit card bills in January.

I am going to defend the Festive period as it's usually the one time of the year our children (in their late 20's) come home for a good get together, big day of food (Winter Feast) and games etc. like we used to with our parents in the past.

Yes, lots wrong with the direction Christmas goes; too much spending and spoiling of children (we need a child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang).  :gift:

In our Essex village we'd go to the Carol Service to put 'christ' in the masses and even here in France we like to go to Redon for their Franglais celebration at the big church.

All of us do our own thing I'm sure.  :rudolph:

Wasn't it Scrooge who said: "You keep Christmas in your way and let me keep it in mine".

Suits both sides that.  :icon_wink:
So how's it going so far then?
