Morning,
Just wondering what people's experience of the mitas e-07 is? Pro's and con's.
I am currently on Anakee wilds which are great but I am only getting 2k off a rear and I just can't afford to keep running them.
I have seen them mentioned a few times so hoping for some 650 specific feedback please.

I've run a pair on the K6Wee and on my 09 Varadero. Bot got around 7k from the rear with a mix of riding and a fair bit of commuting.

Off road they were better than the K60 scouts. Quieter on road too.

Sound like a winner at the price they are!

Dakar or non Dakar is the only other question...

Having not seen a pair in the flesh I wondered it the looked a little square compared to the profile of my anakee wilds. No issues with finding the edge of the tyre? Can get the pegs down riding the wilds

Dakar has a softer carcass I believe.

Non dakar would be my chioce.

Peg scrapping angles are good also.

I've been wondering about these and the K60, just worry about the wet on road grip as the uk seems to need this :-)

At the end of the day they are 50/50 tyres.

They will not have the same levels of grip as a pure road tyre like a PR4's, Anakee 3's or A40's.

The Beemer boys have been running the simular TKC80's for years now and one of the things you learn with the TKC it to use the throttle sparingly in the wet. I had a few slides with them and that was only with a 250cc trail bike.

The Wee and the Varadero had no serious issues with either the K60's or the E-07.
Though I did find the K60 rear was more likey to lock is you stamp on the rear brake than E-07 on the Wee. (Varadero has linked brakes so never showed this tendancy)

At the end of the day K60's E-07 and TKC80 are for rough road, farm tracks, fire roads and looking the part at Starbucks.

If your not riding roads that require or may require them you need a road tyre like the A40' or Anakee 3's or PR4's. They will last longer and give a better ride on the road.

I like to ride a lot of single track roads in the country and go ventureing down lanes I have no idea where they lead or what the surface will be like. A 50/50 tyre gives me the confidence to do this kind of riding.

Currently running A40 Adventures and Roadtec 01's before that and they give me great road holding and confidence on the main roads but the lack of blocky-ness stops me venturing down the unknown lanes.

Next set of tyres will be Mitas E-07 - and they are the only sodding tyre I can't get in work from any of our suppliers.   :dl_smiley_banghead:

Just did 3,000 miles to the Stella Alpina and back via France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. 80 % road, and still have 4mm left on the rear Anakee Wild.  Scraping pegs in the dry, not a single slip or slide at good pace in the wet, and without dropping pressures did all of the trails without the slightest problem.  Properly impressed.  We were expecting much more trail mileage, but one of our group wasn't really confident enough.  We all could enjoy the roads 100% though.

I had planned to swap straight back to my part worn Anakee 3 when we got back, as it will be all road use from now on but I'm happy to run these out completely first.  Trying the PR4 Trails over winter, as I have had them before on other road bikes and they are a great road tyre, sublime in the wet and greasy winter roads.  Good enough price and life for me, saving money shouldn't be something you do with tyres imho.  Find the best balance for yourself, but make sure you don't compromise your riding. We don't get enough of it!
