Seat swap......again
« on: February 07, 2009, 10:35:23 »
Being new here I thought I would ask anyway.

Being 6'4" and long in the leg I find the stock seat on my 650 a tad low. I have a gel pad strapped on and have fitted suspension risers but still have feet flat to the floor and knees bent whan stopped at lights. It seems a terrible waste to buy a 1000 style seat if there is anyone out there with a 1000 and the reverse "problem" to min

Thank you for your patience

Hi Colin. This may be what you're looking for but not necessarily the cost! +20mm on top of 1000 stock seat gives an 860mm seat height, plus whatever the raising links give you extra.

I just bought a Corbin for my 650 and although a tape measure says the heights are about the same, the added width or the Corbin makes the riding position higher. I'm 6'2" and 33" inside leg and I find I am not quite feet flat on the floor.

I wouldn't have paid new price for a Corbin or Sargent. Got it off Ebay for about £140. :thumb:

I've just had a quote of 135 quid plus p+p from Dave at Diggerseats to re-do the seat on my Wee.

For that he'll do a complete rebuild in the style of the Corbin seats. Finish will be black, custom materials are extra.

Hoping to send it off this week. I'll keep you posted.
