Wire wheels, 17" front, fairing off, polished ally frame?

This reminds me of an Americorn TV documentary series, don't remember the title but the synopsis is this: There's a fat older bloke. There's a fat son who argues with the older bloke. Another fat son falls over. Ist fat son does bit to camera. Old fat bloke has a hissy fit and breaks something. 2nd son gets up and falls over again. Unrelated bloke does bit to camera. In the nick of time they cobble together a chopper which looks like every other bloody chopper they've made....

Why not just do it to your Vee? With the Wee the speedo pickup is on the front wheel and might complicate things when you change wheels?
