V-Strom specific discussion / Re: Motorcycle Shed...

Yeah, these things look top notch. Very heavy and secure.

My main concern is condensation although it has lower and upper vents in the sides as well as vents across the ridge line. Hopefully these would be sufficient when putting away a warm and wet bike, but during the winter this would be testing.

I'm also not so keen on the OSB inside floor, although if it is treated then could be OK.

Right..
The PL3105 "CAM" frames (14-17 1000's) will not take the "adapter"kit.  There is no provision for the upper catch to mount..
Which on the face of it, makes these frames next to useless..  (unless you want the trekker outback panniers, which are the only ones that fit).
On the up side.. the frames are fantastically strong and no flex.. (unlike the removable version)
So...not to be defeated and as ever creative.. I have knocked up a couple of adapters to take the upper Monokey mount.. This will allow me to utilise any original 3 point Monokey panniers on the bike..
Pics will follow..

Yeah.. only the PL (cam) or PLR are available for the 14-17.. Those "outbacks" are bloomin expensive really..
I am making some adapters to retro fit the monokey..
The removable frames just don't appeal to my engineering head.. complication and flexing (seen a few reports and You Tube issues with the removables)

The "CAM"  set bolt up solid and have no flex points.. really impressed with the strength..

V-Strom specific discussion / Re: Sound bomb fitting to 1050?
« Last post by deecat on Today at 21:26:42 »
The 1050 has the emissions box in that location. I fitted a similar horn in the standard horn location with just a bit of tweaking to the bracket, it was a tight fit but worked.

Probably the standard Suzuki ignition problem. Steel key, brass wafers, so the wafers wear first.

Try putting a bit of pressure on the short edge of the key (not the side facing the tank when in the "On" position) as you turn it. So if it's in the off position, put some pressure on the head of the key in the 5 o'clock direction.

If it turns easy, you've just figured out your new anti-theft device

Spada Splash CE Black / White - £14.99. The full Black ones are still full price.

I took a punt and they seem pretty nice, lots of feel through them, although they seem surprisingly flexible for a CE approved glove. Maybe not quite for this season but definitely useful for summer
