Motorcycle tyre pressure

I just put new metzler tournance next Tyres on the bike. Very happy with the performance but I want to check the tyre pressure is correct. When I go to their website it says to check the owner motorcycle manual for the tyre pressure. The stock Tyres are different type but will the tyre pressure be the same?

Yes, tyre pressure is the same as it states in the manual.  :thumb:

Same answer here, as manual,but only as a start point.Tyres are part of the suspension, trying a couple of psi either way is not a problem just change one thing at a time and keep notes ,don't go silly and you will find your own tyre/ psi preference.Std may well be your preference,but trying costs nothing

A too low tyre pressure will heat up the tyre a lot quicker and maybe give a slightly better grip. The down side is that the tyre will wear a lot quicker.  The trick is to find a happy balance of tyre pressure with good mileage / tyre life and retain good road grip.  Riding style also plays a role in what type of tyre pressure to use.
As stated above, the manual gives a suggested starting pressure, however the pressures will vary depending on tyre brand / construction vs the rider plus total bike weight (with and without luggage / passanger) and road surface.  As a solo rider, the tyre pressure on my K6 Wee is pumped to 36 F and 40 R with Michelin Anakee 3.   The K5 Wee has Shinko 705s pumped to 33 F and 38 R.
How much front mudguard / mudguard clearance is there with the metzler tournance fitted?
Another can of worms is the question, does one air down when green-lanning / off road...  what about rim damage on aired down tyres.

18mm at front mudguard clearance. Pumped them up yesterday to 36 F 38 R ...Huge handling difference in a good way.
