Came across this on the Adventure Bike Rider magazine forum and posting here in case of use. It's a small wind deflector which is fully adjustable like the (excellent) Madstad (full) screen.

Good find.

+1 - Interesting looking "thing". If anyone gets one then please review it :thumb:

Sorry Simon, I've just had a look at the "enlarged" pics. Not so good.
It looks like I made it with bits from an old wardrobe....
That doesn't mean I wouldn't fit it onto the blue nail. :)
-
More pics here, fitted to wee(s) at the Polish manufacturer's site -Darkojak
http://www.darkojak.rkr.pl/Deflektor/ (http://www.darkojak.rkr.pl/Deflektor/) (click on 'standardowe' then select the v-strom from 'galeria')
Don't we have a polish speaking member who did some translation for Heed products?
-
That would be me;)
-
If anyone tries one of the Darkojak deflectors, I'd be interested to know their thoughts.
Thanks longman - might need to contact you if it turns out to be a good product.
-You could ask for a freebie to try out?

Good effort! Let us know how you get on with that...!

I bought one of these about 10 days ago and fitted it to my Glee and what an amazing transformation. My standard screen is on the highest setting and the wind deflector is on it's lowest setting. At first I had the deflector parallel to the screen and there was a slight buffeting,so I tilted the deflector about a centimeter towards me and Hello presto perfection. I've taken the Glee up to around 95 'on private roads ' with the visor up and also worn my open face lid and no buffeting at all. Mind you I'm used to riding cruisers with no screens at all so having a lump of perspex in front is still a novelty.
It may not be the prettiest thing in the world but it doesn't look out of place and it works. For interest I'm 5' 11" the lids I wear are either a cheapo Nitro full face or a Scorpion Exo open face.

Excellent.
I use an MRA X-Creen on my DL1000 L4, as here: viewtopic.php?f=108&t=23604&p=228270&hilit=MRA#p228270 (http://www.v-strom.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=23604&p=228270&hilit=MRA#p228270), and find it excellent. 80mph visor open no problem.
-
I've been using one of these for the last year, excellent bit of kit in my opinion.
-
A good bit cheaper than the MRA version I have - cira £100. Although the MRA has fancy fixings whereas this one looks a tad agricultural (nothing wrong with that though)

I make use of an Aerotrim (www.aerotrim.co.za) on each of my bikes. It works. The only down side that I found is that the double sided tape does not work for high speed, so you have to dill your screen for permanent / high speed riding. The double sided tape method is a plus in that you can test the product before making it permanent. See their website and you decide. And no I don't have any shares in their company, save the price of 4x Aerotrims that I purchased for my bikes so far.

I have put the Suzuki touring screen on my 2016 DL1000 and I'm still experiencing some buffering. Can anyone recommend a wind deflector, I'm 5ft 10. Is the MRA one best or not. If not, Can you recommend another one.
-
Its trial and error I guess, what works for one person doesn't always work for others. I changed from the small sports screen on my Vee to a MRA didn't work as well as I wanted so added a Madstad adjustable bracket. I'm happy with that option, no buffering and I can ride with my visor up on the motorway no problem. Others will say the Givi Airflow works well but I haven't tried that. I'm also 5 ft 10.

I just bought this deflector, I will report how it's behave when arrive :) Today I went for 60miles ride and wind was so annoying in 70+ speeds, that my head nearly fall off my spine :dl_smiley_banghead: :dl_smiley_banghead: Hopefully this deflector and 35mm mirror extenders will help with wind buffetting.
-
Deflector and mirror extenders installed. From what I've already noticed I have much better view in mirrors, almost panoramic. About buffeting I will report after longer motorway ride :)

Just bought this:
Windscreen regulator adjustment (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-DL-1000-VSTROM-650-screen-Windscreen -regulator-adjustment-adjustable/291864090152?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649)
And it makes even bigger difference with wind noise and stability of the bike on speeds exceding X mph.
-
That looks like a madstad bracket.
-
It is indeed a madstad. for K4-9 DL1000 and K4-L1 DL650
-
It is not a madstad, it is marselus. Polish bloke doing them https://www.marselus.pl/pl/p/Regulator-pochylenia-szyby-Suzuki-DL-6501000-V-Strom/248
-
I like the Sat Nav mount on the link pics. Let us know how you like it!
-
I've got version without Sat Nav mount, bought it because it is cheaper and I have ball mount already. And it is only £45 when madstad is £99.
-
Looks like a Palmer copy.
-
Who copied who first?
-
Definitely is not a palmer copy, looks completely different and marselus have angle adjustment. As far as I know palmer have option to move the screen only up and down. It is well made (laser cut), working fine and first thing first it's cheaper than competition :)
-
Fair 'nuff.
-
Just to correct pichulec, the Palmer bracket DOES adjust for angle as well as height, and that Polish bracket does seem quite similar to the Palmer, which I've had on my Glee for some years with the standard screen. It works very well.
-
Looking at the pics on my pc rather than phone, not Palmer-esque.
If it works, and isn't infringing patents, :thumb: .
