That fits inside a crash helmet ?
I recently bought a v strom which came with a Sat Nav but my standard bluetooth set won't fit inside my lid (Arai chaser)

Which headset do you have? I'd have thought they're all similar in design unless internal helmet specific (usually only one choice then). The Interphone F5MC won Ride's best buy, with the F3MC getting a recommended triangle.

I've had a Scala Rider G4 for years though it's starting to fail now. I thought they were good & would buy the Cardio systems again.

(Edit: sorry the picture is slightly out of focus - unfortunately I don't have the magazine any more)

My current one is just a cheapie to wear at work etc, nothing to do with motorcycling.

I have the same as King Orry. Think I paid about £25 and it's been going strong for 18 months commuting. Would be nice if the volume went a little higher, but for the price it's difficult to pick fault. Can hear nav instructions with earplugs in, but have to listen out for the voice.

I have a Sena 20S and that is loud and clear plus it will work with other makes of blue tooth headset. I think this has been superseded by newer models though, so there may be some bargains out there.

I've got a £35 job. Much better than the much more expensive Scala Rider that I had before. I only use it for Sat Nav nothing else.

I have an interphone F5 on an old helmet. It was OK. I recently updated both the Helmet and the sound system. I now use a Sena SC10U which is specific to the Schuberth E1. The Sena system is superior to the former Interphone in many ways. Not so sure about the Schuberth though

As I'm hinking of getting a new lid in the not too distant future, would I be better off waiting and getting it at the same time? Thoughts?

Depending on what you go for, I think it was Sportsbikeshop.co.uk had an offer of 20% off the price of the Shoei SRL (Sena) intercom if purchased with the Shoei Neotec 2. There may be similar offers for bike specific headsets.

My answer to that would be Yes. In my situation the Sena was specific to the Schuberth that I purchased. I understand also that Shoei have an arrangement with one of the intercom manufacturers (possibly Sena also) to make Shoei specific items.

Hmmm, helmet specific. Pros - neater, less wind noise, you know it will fit. Cons - price, and non - interchangeability. Get a different lid and you need to go shopping again.
Buy at the same time to get a deal, but maybe a universal unit.

I used a scala rider q1 for a while, and loved it.
Replaced it when the wife wanted 1 as well.

I ended up buying a cheap pair (20 quid) of bluetooth ear buds from argos for the time being. Works fine with the Sat Nav. Only thing is they seem to gradually fall half way out of your lug hole after a while but still workable. Will be looking at other options when I replace my lid.
