Nearly 5 years !
« on: March 04, 2014, 19:08:40 »
I just happened to notice but on the 10th of March I'll have been a member of this fine site for 5 years ! I've gone from a Vee to a Stelvio to a Glee in that time and racked up over 10,000 posts, a tiny, tiny percentage of which may have been slightly useful...

Here's to another 5 years  :)

P.S. - must try harder to post more in the humour section.

Long time, are you happy now with the Glee or have you got one eye on the new 1000?

Happy with the Glee, but I do have room in the garage for another bike... Or more likely an SL500 merc  :)

I don't like wasting money on cars. My '98 Astra Estate is getting on a bit now, 110,000 miles. I keep dreading MOT time incase I have to spend money on it, or, worse still, buy another car. :o

One of my mates is proud of the fact he has never spent a four figure sum on a car ! Yes, he get's through a lot in a year but is currently rolling in a Mitsubishi Gallant 2.5 V6 auto with full leather. The A/C doesn't work and it will be scrapped in May when the MOT runs out (needs a LOT of welding & discs all round, & brakelines etc, etc). Not bad for just £220 in the new year and as a car that size currently fetches about £170 scrap it's cheap motoring.

I've had my Astra since 2005, it cost £2,750 with 62,000 miles on it, I'll run it into the ground and then buy something similarly priced to run for another 10 years with a bit of luck. I hate the fact that I need to run a car.
