It could have been worse. Only a £1 rebate and still the broker fees...

I always feel more Broke Back Mountain when I've had any dealings with the barstewards.

As insurance is mandatory it should be up to the government to stop this opportunist attempted theft.

30 is not old User650.

Insurance companies deserve their own thread.

Robbing tw*ts thread should suffice.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Phoned Carole Nash to remove my Glee from my policy now that it's sold.

Late response, but I can beat this... when I recently removed the Glee from my Hastings policy, the broker fee was substantially higher than the rebate, with the result that halving my number of insured bikes actually cost me money  :dl_smiley_banghead:

I recently changed cars and got a saving of £15 on the new motor.... the admin fee was £20 so I had to pay them £5 for the pleasure.

Assumption: The motivation for becoming vegetarian is the desire to not kill animals.
Like the couple I knew who used to buy meat direct from a farmer. They were happy to get their meat at a good price until one day they saw some animals being brought into the abattoir adjoining the farm shop. They felt some sort of pity for the beasts and have not eaten meat since.
Speaking for myself I rarely ( no pun intended) eat meat but that is because I don't trust what the wholesalers and processors do to it like pumping water into it "to tenderise it sir"  and thereafter charging 'meat prices' for water and then there's the fake blood and lack of hygiene etc.
I don't have meat in my home. When I'm out, I eat all sorts of meaty rubbish, just as long as it's really well cooked. Anyhow the point of this rant, if anyone is still with me, is this. Why is vegetarian substitute meat made to look just like meat? How does a veggie burger look to someone who finds eating meat to be rather repulsive. Vegetarian bacon ? although that is horrid beyond description.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

The wife was veggie because she thought she didn't like meat but felt she needed an excuse to say so. Her parents were just buying cheap cuts and cooking them badly. A slow cooker and spending a bit more every now and again changed her mind. We avoid halal/kosha and have meat free days when we fancy. When we have a lump of meat it's from the proper butchers, so no water pouring out.

Quorn "mince" is OK and low fat.

Totally agree on the burgers and sausage. ASDA used to do a really good veggie rissole type thing that was good, plain veggie cooking. They marketed it as a sausage, people said it wasn't and now it's gone.  The veggies are obviously as lacking in knowledge about their food as the rest of the population? Why else would Quorn sell "chicken" nuggets.

I'm a meat eater, but try to buy organic or from the local "Farmers' Market" - meat they're  excellent. Her chicken breasts are at least twice the size of supermarket ones, and far tastier. And she sells real mutton ..... slowly cooked it makes a superb curry
the daughters are/were vegetarian, but they never really saw the point of veggie imitation meat either!

Vegetarians who eat fish. Have they missed the point? The GF's sister is a veggie that is soooo anti-meat, yet is happy to wear leather shoes. Words fail me...

Yes
And they get a bit upset when you point out the inconsistency!

Any 'vegetarian' who eats fish is not a vegetarian - what they are is stupid for saying they're vegetarian...  :dl_soapbox:

My missus is a veggie and whilst it can be a PITA to find somewhere she can/will eat at least she sticks to her vegginess. She's veggie as she doesn't like the texture or taste of meat. And for info, there's only one chippy at the bottom in Whitby that cooks in veggie oil as all the tasty ones use beef dripping  :icon_drool5:
