Michelin drops pilot...

https://rideapart.com/articles/michelin-announces-new-road-5-sport-touring-tyre

Yes, the article is American but it seems the Pilot Road series tyre is being updated to... Road 5. The pilot has been booted out. Hopefully the plane won't crash and these tyres will be the best round rubbery things they have produced. I liked the PR3 and PR4 tyres so these will be on my radar come tyre time.

Would having the wrong tyres 'arm a trade-in?

Is it a flying one?
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Ahh.. the 'old timers' disease kicks in again..
Funny thing is.. I recall staying in some flea ridden B&B near Earls Court in about 1975 with my old man, we left in the early hours, probably without paying, and on the way out the back door he took a Joan 'Armour-plating' poster off the wall saying, your sister likes her doesn't she..?
Yup, he was a bit of a bugger. ????

+1. The 4's are much better than I am. Which is the right way round, when you think about it

I prefer the 3s, although I have 4s on my Honda currently. I haven't tried them yet but there is a reason why Michelin are keeping them , the Road 2s. We have started selling them again with great feedback.

Only ever used 4s so don't know the difference in 3s.

The PR3s I had on my strom when I bought it were a revelation. All my bikes from the dim and distant past were on budget rubber and handled accordingly. The PR3s had superb grip in all weathers and I was pleasantly surprised at how the bike could be flung around corners. Trying to keep up with user650, TLP and the rest on rides out taught me much about just how capable a strom can be on the right tyres. Happy days...
