So I knackered the front mudguard screw trying to take it out (which I've still not yet managed), assuming I can get it out with a combination of hammering swearing and sweating, I'll need a replacement. What's the size of this screw so I can source a replacement? I did a quick Google for DL650 mudguard screw and only got one hit for £8.50 which seems extortionate, so anyone know what best to search for or where I can get a cheaper/better version?

Found it, have to go with Americanism of f e n d e r.
It's 09139-06131 which is an M6 screw with a 3mm shoulder. So turns out I have some M6 screws left over from my GSXR but they don't have the shoulder... Will that work?

Yes.
Assemble with copperslip.
-
The point of the shoulder is to allow the bolt to tighten without crushing the plastic - the shoulder takes the strain. Just be careful no to overtighten.

I had to take my front mud guard off and the 2 screws holding it on were seized up. Had to saw 1 of off
The plastic that holds the plate is toast
So am going to use stainless bolt, locking nut and washer, when I put it back together next week

If you cut a short length of copper 8mm central heating pipe and slip it over the bolt it will protect the mudguard. I used some aircraft SS pipe and it is brill.
