On my V-Strom I have fitted the GPR Trioval exhaust, exactly like this one:
https://www.gpr-motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk/product/gpr-exhaust-system-Suzuki-v-strom-dl-650-2004-11-homologated-silencer-with-mid-full-line-trioval/
I can't find a homologation code on it.
The vendor says that this silencer has road homologation, so I believe the homologation code should be labeled somewhere on this silencer.
I worry about this homologation code due to the MOT inspection. And I am afraid that the bike can not pass MOT due to that.
If anyone knows where this homologation code can be placed, I will be grateful to share with me this information.
I would also appreciate sharing your GPR silencer experience during the MOT inspection.

My fairly understanding is that as long as it doesn't have any wording such as "competition use only", "not for road use"or "not for highway use" you should be OK.
If is deemed too loud that is another matter entirely, but I think a loud exhaust will only deliver an advisory.
Kwackboy will be along shortly with the correct answer. :thumb:

You should have got a certificate with the item, or be able to download it from their website.

You should have got a certificate with the item, or be able to download it from their website.
I have bought this bike with this exhaust and without a certificate.
You have the right that I can get this certificate via website, but to do that I must have a photo with the homologation code visible :dl_smiley_banghead:

OK ... with regard to aftermarket silencers, they can't have "not for road use" stamped on them and can't be "no louder" than a standard silencer as a rule.
This is an extract from the MOT rules...
The exhaust system and silencer should be in such condition, or of such a type, that the noise emitted from the motorcycle is not clearly unreasonably above the level expected from a similar motorcycle with a standard silencer in average condition
However, it's really down to the MOT testers discretion as he/she/they/it are supposed to know what a standard silencer should sound like.
Personally, If a silencer isn't tearing my ear drums out I'll Pass it with an advisory that its "slightly" loud.
FYI ... if anyone comes to me with an aftermarket silencer flashing a certificate (and they have) I disregard it , it's means nothing.

Absolutely, I could print a 'convincing' one myself. Soothes concerned owners, maybe?

Possibly....

Update.
Today I have removed the silencer and I have found a homologation code. I my bike it was placed directly under the band. Therefore I cannot find it.
I attached the photo in the case when someone will need a homologation code in the future.

Good find .... :thumb:
With regard to your MOT, I'm afraid it means nothing ..
If you are worried, head to your local class 2 MOT garage and ask one of the testers to listen to your exhaust, they'll tell you if it will pass or not.
As I said , it's all down to the tester .

If you have baffles in, it will pass almost everywhere. I have scorpion exhausts which are homologated and never had a single problem on MOT (even with the baffles out).
